Ready for action

Both the Raceboard and Division II classes are all set to for the European Championships starting today in Brest.

It was registration and measurement for the windsurfers today. With the DII class weighing and sizing up their equipment from the early morning. Some boards have lost weight over the years, which is not very common for today’s equipment, but as it happens the hollow construction of a DII may behave in such a way, when well kept care of. What’s more some boards needed lead to be put on them to make them heavier!

90 competitors from 15 countries have entered the event. With the biggest fleet being the Raceboard Men. The sailors are definitely looking forward to a great week of racing with the weather forecast showing sun all through to Saturday on the French coast. 15 races are planned for the Raceboard class, whilst the DII have 12 scheduled.

Tomorrow we have the skippers’ meeting at 10:00 followed by the first race at 11:00.
